The last couple of weeks have been busy.  My schedule has consisted of fundraising for the World Race, helping with virtual school, and dog sitting just to name a few things. With that being said, it has been wonderful. It has allowed me to serve those around me and share the gospel with so many. “I have enjoyed every little fundraising opportunity. They have helped me be able to love people through service. There is no place that God can’t reach, He has even shown himself to me through dog sitting. Helping these families has grown my faith and I have been able to bring more people along with me in this world race journey. People I didn’t even know a month ago. I thank God everyday and He is not finished.”

First, let’s talk about fundraising. Recently I had a tamale fundraiser. We made over 200 tamales and delivered them to at least 20 different families.  I was able to raise over $800. More importantly though I was able to engage with people that I hadn’t yet gotten to tell about my upcoming trip. It also gave me the chance to talk to people that I didn’t even know. It was a wonderful outreach tool and it showed me just how simple it can be to love people and share the gospel. My family and I got to minister to so many people just by making tamales. It definitely showed me just how God can use anything for Him.

Second, I had the pleasure of helping a family’s 4 boys and my cousin with virtual school. It was challenging to help 5 boys in 3 different grades with 4 different teachers. Some days were more of a struggle than others, but I was able to see positive growth in each of them. Their reading and math improved. They also learned how to manage frustration when things got difficult. Getting to be a part of these boys’ lives even for a short time helped me develop more patience and a greater understanding that everyone does not learn the same way. It was a wonderful taste of what it will be like over the next 11 months.”

Not only has God grown me spiritually, God has provided financially. I was able to meet my latest fundraising goal and start working on my new goal of $10,000 by October 9th, which is also the day I am leaving home for training camp.
